A man in Kingston who tried to meet a teenager he met online for sex has been accused of molesting the girl over the course of several years.

Tye Richard, 28, met the now 18-year-old girl at Kingston’s Devonshire Park when she was 13, police said.

He was arrested on Monday for making a child sexually available to sex for a five-year period.

He is now charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Richard posted bail and was later bailed after one day in custody.

A Kingston police spokesperson said he violated the terms of his bail and was subsequently remanded into custody.

In 2009, Richard was detained in a police sting following a video he had posted of himself performing a sex act on an unconscious woman who was wearing a nightdress.

Police took him into custody after images of the act were allegedly found on his smartphone.
