ACM Awards: You Can Stream the Show Live From Texas for the First Time in Nearly 50 Years

The Academy of Country Music Awards is moving to the arena for the first time in more than 40 years. The men and women in country music will make a rare stop at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, this year. Next year, the ACM Awards will relocate once again for what has become its annual “best of” special. The ACM Awards venue will have more fans and fans of the ACM Awards looking on than ever before.

The ACM Awards will be the first music awards show to be live-streamed on Amazon Prime Video. The prime section of the Amazon Video app will be featuring a joint live-stream with TNT, which will start at 6 p.m. ET on the night of the event. Other people watching the show at home will be able to watch the live stream on TNT’s YouTube channel. The ACM Awards will stream on Amazon Prime Video the following day, Monday, April 22.

Amazon and the Academy of Country Music have a history with the ACM Awards. In 2018, Amazon Prime Video premiered streaming exclusive content, ACM: Still The Same. This past February, in an exclusive deal with CMT, Amazon Prime Video premiered the music series ACM Loves Music, which is hosted by Reba McEntire. Fans can download the ACM Videos section of the Amazon Music app on their Amazon devices.

Just a few days ago, Reba McEntire teased the possible reunion of the McEntire Band, one of the most successful and creative country music bands of all time. This would make for a fantastic night at the ACM Awards, especially considering there are few people left who know all of McEntire’s songs as well as she does. (Note: This article is in no way affiliated with Reba McEntire, but it’s very interesting to note that Reba’s songs are still prevalent throughout music.)

The ACM Awards airs on CBS Sunday, April 7 at 8 p.m. ET and 4 p.m. PT. Tune in to the Academy of Country Music Awards 2022 from AT&T Stadium on Prime Video.
